Wednesday will be the last day of the heat wave for the Northeast before a cold front brings the chance for severe storms and much cooler air to the region. Record highs and record warm lows will be in jeopardy once again along the Interstate 95 corridor. Scattered severe storms with damaging winds and hail will be possible Wednesday afternoon/evening in places like New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington. Heat relief arrives Thursday as temperatures drop into the 60s for millions.
