Caring for a senior dog is the ultimate gift for a pet parent, especially when that dog is as sweet and silly as Olaf. Not only is this handsome senior Golden Retriever his mama’s soul dog, but he’s also a playful old soul who never stops making the most of each day.

On August 12, that meant stealing a sock! Watching this senior dog act like a puppy again always makes his mama proud, and the now-viral video she posted has also stolen the hearts of thousands of fans. It doesn’t get any cuter than this!

He didn’t choose the thief life; the thief life chose him! Olaf looks like he’s having the time of his life while showing off his prize—socks with his own self-portrait on them— and his mom isn’t even mad. How could anyone be upset at such a wholesome senior pup’s playful moment?

Commenter @cabbage.x.bender set the record straight when she reminded everyone of an important saying: “If they’re gray, they get their way, and double digits mean no limits.”

You can say that again! Senior dogs can get away with just about anything when they set their mind to it. All they have to do is look adorable, and the job is done! Olaf may not be setting the most polite example for his Golden Retriever sister, Elsa, but he’s showing her just how wonderful it is to grow old surrounded by love.

Besides, age is just a number! Viewer @teddy_likes_bears agreed, saying, “That’s obviously just a little puppy being naughty.” He’s only as old as he thinks he is, and in his mind, that’s not very old at all!

Senior Dogs Make Everyone Emotional

“Old/senior dogs make me so emotional,” commented @galaxyworldbuddy. “They’re so sweet and adorable. I can never search up videos of them, though, because I just end up crying.”

They’re definitely not alone; hundreds of viewers left comments gushing over this precious boy, and each was just as moving as the last. All a pet parent wants is to know their dog is happy and healthy, and watching them use their energy to play and be silly is the ultimate gift, no matter how old they are.
