Tropical Storm Moke has formed in the Central Pacific, and while the storm will not pass as close to Hawaii as Lala, it will bring heavy rain to the island chain. The Big Island is facing widespread rainfall of 5 to 10 inches, with isolated totals up to 15 inches. Hurricane Lala caused flooding and landslides across the archipelago less than a week ago, so soils are already saturated and any new rainfall could cause flash flooding.
