Dangerous heat is spanning the country this weekend, running from the dry heat of Arizona all the way east to Florida. Heat advisories and alerts now cover millions, and there's little relief in sight. The worst of it centers on Texas, where an extreme heat warning covers the Dallas area. Feels-like temperatures will be brutal. Houston, Dallas and New Orleans all push into the 100s, with Atlanta and Savannah sweltering in the 90s. Records could fall in numerous cities before this stretch breaks. This is the kind of heat that turns dangerous fast. Consider postponing after-school and outdoor activities, limit time in the sun during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water and find air conditioning when you can. Check on older neighbors, and never leave kids or pets in a parked car. Here's how hot it could feel where you live.
