Traveling will be tough for the eastern half of the U.S. through the end of the week.

A storm system has set up across the eastern U.S., bringing a threat of flooding and severe weather to the Northeast and Great Lakes. With much colder air behind this system, parts of the interior Northeast could even see a few isolated flurries on Saturday.

Much of the East will deal with record heat through Friday before a cold front helps temperatures to plunge over the weekend, so keep that in mind when you are packing for your trip.

Southern California is expected to see a Santa Ana wind event through Saturday, which could impact travel in the region.
