Imagine hundreds of corgis in Halloween costumes waddling across the sand, their stubby legs churning, ears flopping, some dressed as pumpkins and others as hot dogs.

That’s not a fever dream. That’s Corgi Beach Day, presented by SoCal Corgin Nation, and it’s happening this Saturday, Oct. 24, in Huntington Beach, Calif., about 35 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

Corgi Beach Day has become one of Southern California’s most beloved pet events. The free gathering runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 21351 CA-1 in Huntington Beach, just two blocks south of the iconic Huntington Beach Pier.

The 14th annual Corgi Beach Day celebrates the breed’s distinctive look: long bodies, short legs and famously photogenic bottoms. The autumn event gives those little dogs a Halloween-themed stage. Some of the events this year include:

  • Fall-themed photo installations with spooky photo opportunities and a Halloween costume contest
  • Specific Corgi contests like cutest cardigan corgi, corgi limbo, best corgi butt, the ‘Pumpkin Pie Chomp’ eating contest
  • CelebreCorg meet-and-greets, think celebrity corgis with their own followings

Beer Garden and Corgi Cocktails

For the first time in 2026, the event will feature a new beer garden. Beachwood Brewing will be on-site, serving beer alongside festive “Corgtoberfest” touches. And because this event doesn’t forget who the real guests are, Brutus Broth is providing special drinks just for the dogs.

You and your dog can sit together in a beach beer garden, both sipping something seasonal. That’s the energy this event is trying to bring.
