How I Got To The Weather Company

Growing up in the Atlanta area, I experienced a wide variety of weather including severe thunderstorms, tropical storms and often near-misses with winter storms. It was those often near-miss snowstorms I tracked on The Weather Channel and on local television that pulled me toward meteorology as a young child.

What I Love About Working for The Weather Company

The great thing about my role is I get to cover weather nationally and around the world, so it’s hard to get stuck in a rut with boredom doing the same thing day in and out. There’s always something new and interesting to seek out, tell stories about and, most importantly, learn about.

Favorite Weather Areas

Changes like the seasons.

Core Weather Memory

My biggest brush with dangerous weather was Hurricane Opal in 1995, which downed trees on my family’s home and all over the yard in the middle of the night.
