How I Got To The Weather Company

I am a manager on the content team at The Weather Company and joined as a studio producer in 2018. I grew up in the suburbs outside of Atlanta and found my fascination for weather early in my professional career.

After graduating from Georgia Southern University, I worked for a local news station in Savannah, Georgia. I held various newsroom and production roles, where I thrived in a fast-paced news environment. I won a Southeast Regional Emmy in the Outstanding Newscast Director category for my role during tornado coverage in the area. During my time at WTOC-TV, I covered two hurricanes that impacted our area. The days and nights were very long, covering hurricanes Matthew and Irma. Seeing my team come together and share information with the numerous viewers both locally and through their online platforms brought immense joy during challenging times.

What I Love About Working for The Weather Company

Joining The Weather Company has been a truly rewarding experience. The meteorologists are some of the friendliest and smartest people you could ever meet. The passion and expertise that everyone shares make every day an opportunity to learn something new.

Favorite Core Weather Memory

Covering Hurricane Matthew is my most engrained weather memory. I was working for a local news station and we stayed live, on-air, for over 30 straight hours. It was impressive to see a group go from covering about nine hours of news a day to being in wall-to-wall coverage. Our station was in an evacuation zone and I remember finally being able to leave and see if the place I was renting sustained any damage. Luckily, the property was unharmed and all my belongings were safe. I’m used to seeing flooding and storm damage in videos, but this was my first time being around it. The smell from all the toppled trees in the area was something I’ll never forget.
