Description

Major winter storm continues. What: Total snowfall and ice pellet accumulations of 10 to 20 cm, except 20 to 40 cm for areas north of Highway 17. Near zero visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. Freezing rain with ice build-up of 6 to 12 mm. Northeasterly wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h. When: Continuing through Monday night. Additional information: Rapidly accumulating snowfall will transition to ice pellets and freezing rain tonight. As temperatures rise above the freezing mark for some areas tonight into early Monday morning, precipitation may change over to rain. For areas expected to see significant rainfall, a Rainfall Warning is currently in effect. As colder air arrives in the wake of the system, all precipitation will become snow by late Monday afternoon. ### Travel will likely be hazardous. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Road closures are possible. Prolonged utility outages are likely. Description

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. What: Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm. When: Tonight or early Monday morning through Monday afternoon. Where: Locations in the vicinity of Highway 17 to Temiskaming and south, including Manitoulin Island. Additional information: Freezing rain will change over to rain as temperatures rise above the freezing mark tonight into early Monday morning. Locations northwest of the City of Sudbury are expected to remain as ice pellets or freezing rain. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources office.
