The Monsoon trough is active and lies near its normal position. It is likely to continue in this position throughout the week. A cyclonic circulation is located over the northwest, producing widespread rain with thunderstorms in the region.

Particularly, localised very heavy rainfall is forecast over eastern Rajasthan, with up to 150 mm expected during the next 24 hours, raising risks of flooding, mudslides, and swollen rivers. Some areas of Madhya Pradesh will also witness heavy rains on Monday. The system should move westward slowly, and the rain activity may persist through Tuesday.

Another cyclonic circulation is located over the northeast, bringing widespread rains and scattered thunderstorms. In particular, rain totals of 120 mm or more with risks of mudslides and localised inundation are expected in some areas of Assam on Monday. The rain activity should die down from Tuesday onward.
