• Fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall is very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu-Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat Region, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep and Karnataka.
• Scattered showers are expected in Vidarbha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
• Isolated heavy rainfall is possible over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Haryana, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand and Odisha.
• Isolated very heavy rains are forecast over Lakshadweep, Kerala, Mahe and South Interior Karnataka.
• In the morning hours, fog is possible in the Trans Himalayas.

F​riday (August 16)

• Isolated heavy rainfall is possible over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Haryana, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand and Odisha.
• Isolated very heavy rains are forecast over Lakshadweep, Kerala, Mahe and South Interior Karnataka.

5-day nationwide forecast

Southwest Monsoon will produce heavy rain across much of India during this projection period. The hardest hit will be Gangetic West Bengal and Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha due to cyclonic circulation.

Another cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan will produce heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Rajasthan; heavy rain at isolated places over Jammu- Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, est Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka and Kerala; heavy rain at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Lakshadweep, Rayalaseema and Coastal and North Interior Karnataka.

Wet southwesterly winds wrapping around the end of monsoon trough will produce heavy rain at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

On the other hand, above to well above highs will prevail over south peninsula India during the period.

Minimum temperatures will be near or slightly above normal over India during the period.
