Rainfall in Delhi-NCR Spurs Air Quality Boost as Multiple Monitoring Stations Report 'Satisfactory' Levels

As of Friday morning, the overall AQI stood at 398, falling within the 'very poor' category, according to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). However, the Ashok Vihar station in the national capital reported 'satisfactory' air quality, with PM 2.5 at 77 and PM 10 at 67.

The AQI scale, ranging from zero to 500, categorizes levels as follows: 'good' (0-50), 'satisfactory' (51-100), 'moderate' (101-200), 'poor' (201-300), 'very poor' (301-400), and 'severe' (401-500).

Various stations, including Bawana, Delhi Technical University (DTU), Indira Gandhi International Airport T3 area, Jahangirpuri and Punjabi Bagh showed improvements across different parameters, with several recording 'good,' 'satisfactory,' and 'moderate' air quality levels.

Gurugram’s sector 51 stations reported the PM 2.5 at 137 and PM 10 at 134 both in moderate category. The CO was also recorded at 102, in moderate category while NO2 was at 72, satisfactory levels.

Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad’s Loni, the PM 2.5 was recorded at 212, 'poor' category and PM 10 was at 109, a 'moderate' category. The CO was at 86 and Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) was at 61, both in 'satisfactory' levels.
