Delhi Pollution: At Overall AQI of 383, Air Quality in the National Capital Dips to 'Severe' Levels Yet Again

Wednesday, November 15: Air quality across Delhi yet again dipped to 'severe' category with the overall AQI hitting 383 on Wednesday.

At Anand Vihar station, the PM 2.5 level peaked at 500, and PM 10 registered at 476, both falling into the 'severe' category. Concurrently, Carbon monoxide (CO) measured at 102, categorised as 'moderate,' while NO2 stood at 53, maintaining 'satisfactory' levels according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) report at 9 a.m.

Bawana station reported PM 2.5 and PM 10 at 500 and 435, respectively. CO recorded a level of 95, deemed 'satisfactory,' and NO2 at 21, falling within the 'good' category.

Dwarka sector-8 station witnessed PM 2.5 at 446 ('severe') and PM 10 at 361 ('very poor'). CO levels were at 62, falling under 'satisfactory' levels.

Indira Gandhi International Airport T3 area experienced 'severe' air quality, with PM 2.5 at 429 and PM 10 at 286, categorising CO as 84 in the 'satisfactory' range.

Delhi Technical University (DTU) station reported PM 10 at 437 ('severe') and PM 2.5 at 327 ('very poor'). NO2 reached 127 ('moderate'), while CO was at 88 in the 'satisfactory' range.

Jahangirpuri's air quality reached 'severe' levels, with PM 2.5 at 500 and PM 10 at 489. CO measured 90, categorised as 'satisfactory,' while NO2 stood at 13, in the 'good' category.

It's crucial to note that the Air Quality Index (AQI) scale categorises values between zero and 50 as 'good,' 51 to 100 as 'satisfactory,' 101 to 200 as 'moderate,' 201 to 300 as 'poor,' 301 to 400 as 'very poor,' and 401 to 500 as 'severe.' The current readings indicate a widespread and alarming deterioration in air quality across different areas of the city.
