WHAT...South gales to 45 kt with occasional storm force gusts to 50 kt and significant waves to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft expected from this morning through this evening. Northwest gales to 45 kt and significant waves to 16 ft occasionally to 21 ft expected from late tonight through Monday evening. WHERE...Illinois and Indiana nearshore from Winthrop Harbor, IL to Michigan City, IN. WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 PM CDT Monday. IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions.

Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles on west to east oriented roadways.
