At 1100 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Barrett, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Northern Baytown, Liberty, Dayton, Highlands, Channelview, Barrett, Crosby, Mont Belvieu, Old River-Winfree, Kenefick, Cove, San Jacinto State Park, Sheldon, northeastern Houston Ship Channel, and Wallisville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM CST SUNDAY... WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing. WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following county, Harris. WHEN...Until 1215 AM CST. IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is currently occurring in and around the Aldine area. There are reports of ongoing street flooding in this area as additional rainfall is moving into the area. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 908 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 3 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
