Thanksgiving travel through this weekend will be dry for the majority of the United States, but there are some wet and wintry trouble spots that could cause delays.

Nearly 51 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home for this holiday, according to AAA.

• East: Lake-effect snow showers are possible east and southeast of Lake Ontario in upstate New York. A few snow showers or flurries are expected in portions of northern New England, perhaps turning to rain near coastal Maine. The rest of the East will be dry but cold.
• Central: A few showers are possible in deep southern Texas. Elsewhere, high pressure will continue to bring dry conditions throughout the central states. Temperatures will be well above average. 
• West: Rain and higher-elevation snow remain possible from the Northwest into northern and central California. A few showers are possible into southern California late on Sunday. Strong, gusty winds are also possible.
