Finally. Heat Ends, Fall Really Begins With Most Widespread Cooler Air of Season for South and East

A pattern change will finally deliver some cooler fall-like air to areas sweltering in record heat.
The first cold front will slide down the East Coast, bringing relief to parts of the South this weekend.
Another front will sweep from the Plains this weekend into the South and East early next week.
This will erase the 90-degree-plus heat in the South and East.
