Southern Plains Flood Threat For Valentine’s Day

February 11, 2026

Happy Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air, and unfortunately, for some parts of the country, so is rain. A storm system pushing ashore on the West Coast may cause some drizzle for the Pacific Northwest. But the real trouble area is the Southern Plains, where a low pressure system could drive heavy rain and even a potential severe weather threat. Temperatures, on the other hand, are going to be nice and warm (relatively speaking) across the country with highs 10 to 20 degrees above average.
