Raindrops Not 'Teardrop' Shaped And More You Didn't Know

A​ cross-country storm that has already impacted the Southwest and Midwest is now pushing through the South this weekend with soaking rain and possibly a few severe thunderstorms.

H​ere's a look at the timing for this system so you can plan your weekend.

This storm system has already brought snow to the southern High Plains and hail to north Texas. H​ere's where the storm is right now:

-Rain and a few thunderstorms will impact the Southeast states and northern and central Florida. That might interfere with outdoor plans from Atlanta to Tallahassee, Florida, and Charleston, South Carolina. Some heavy rain is possible.

-​An isolated severe storm threat is possible in northern Florida and south Georgia. Wind damage is the primary impact, but a brief tornado can't be ruled out.

Sunday's Forecast

-Widespread, heavy rainfall totals are not expected in the South this weekend. Most areas will see less than an inch, but parts of northern Florida, southern Georgia and southern South Carolina might see up to three inches of rain.
