Before Winter Storm Marisol reaches the central and eastern U.S. with snow and possible severe weather, its sights are set on the West Coast and California with heavy rain in the forecast. Flash flooding is possible, especially Wednesday, for cities like Los Angeles, San Jose, Sacramento, Redding and Oxnard. Heavy rain could be especially hazardous over regions recently impacted by wildfires like the Palisades and Eaton fires. Heavy rain on top of burn scars could cause debris flows or mudslides.
