Nor’easter To Hit Mid-Atlantic And Northeast

A Nor’easter is set to strengthen along the East Coast, bringing wind, rain and waves to parts of the East Coast. Coastal flood alerts extend from Jacksonville, Florida to parts of Long Island, New York, where 1-3 feet of inundation above ground level is expected. Coastal inundation could potentially cause damage to coastal communities, especially during high tide. There are currently nearly 20 river gauges across the Mid-Atlantic that are forecast to reach major flood stage in the coming days. High surf advisories are also in place for parts of the Mid-Atlantic, where large waves up to 13 feet are possible. Flood watches are in effect for parts of the Carolina and Virginia coastlines where rainfall of 2-6 inches are possible. Wind advisories are also in effect along the coast, where widespread gusts over 55 mph are possible. Here is the latest.
