A strong upper-level ridge is driving above-average temperatures across much of the Central United States, with highs in the 50s and 60s as far north as Denver and even Chicago. High-temperature records could be broken this week as the heat moves eastward, and temperatures remain up to 30 degrees above normal for cities like Dallas, St. Louis, Nashville and Indianapolis.
