Record-Breaking Drought Fuels Wildfires In Southeast

Record-breaking drought in the Southeast continues to fuel wildfires across Florida and Georgia, and the fires are emitting enough smoke to keep air quality conditions low across the region. Burn bans are in effect for much of both states, and firefighters are struggling to contain multiple large fires. Cities like Atlanta, Jacksonville and Savannah are all left waiting for rain to come through, ease the air quality concerns and provide support to firefighting efforts.
