System's High Winds Bring Big Fire Worry

The Southern Plains will see an increased fire threat Tuesday and Wednesday as Winter Storm Nyla ushers in strong, gusty winds to central and southern portions of the country. Tuesday’s fire threat includes places like Lubbock, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Denver and Kansas City. Winds across the Great Plains could gust up to 50 mph, which could cause any sparks to rapidly spread into destructive fires.
