Severe Weather, Flash Flood Threats Ramp Up On Friday

We are tracking the chance for severe thunderstorms through Saturday as a strong storm system moves across the country. Showers and storms will become more widespread across the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys Thursday afternoon. A few storms may turn severe with damaging winds and a brief tornado possible. However, the chance for severe weather and flash flooding will increase on Friday in places like Birmingham, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Jackson. Damaging winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes and heavy rain up to 2.5 inches per hour will all be possible. Watch this video for the latest update.
