Days of Valley Rain And Mountain Snow For Waterlogged West

January 4, 2026

The pattern of moisture hitting the West continues again with more rounds of lower elevation rain and mountain snowfall this upcoming week. Flood watches are in effect for parts of Central and Northern California, where rainfall of 3-8 inches is possible across the foothills, which could cause additional flooding as soils are saturated. The Sierra Nevada could see additional feet of snowfall, which will help to bring the snowpack closer to average for this time of year. Watch this video for the latest forecast.
