After two months, China reopened a portion of the Great Wall as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases slowed down in the country.

However, officials placed requirements for visitors. They must book a ticket in advance, have their temperatures checked prior to entering the wall, wear face masks and practice social distancing at least 3 feet. The Badaling section of the Great Wall will be open to visitors everyday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Officials have also lifted lockdown requirements in Wuhan, the city hit hardest with the coronavirus, allowing over 60 million residents to finally leave their homes. The city will remain closed off until April 8, but locals are now free to roam and even take public transportation again.

China has recently reported fewer and fewer cases of the coronavirus. However, there is speculation as to whether or not the country’s statistics are accurate, according to the Washington Post. Other countries like Italy and the U.S. are still reporting a higher number of cases and deaths every day.

But as life gradually returns to normal in China, visitors can now have the privilege to head outdoors and take in one of the country’s most prized historical sites.
