Would you like to see some vegetables that weigh more than small children? Well, the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show, which took place in northern England on Friday, featured some shopping cart-size veggies during their judging of the giant vegetables. From a cabbage weighing 55 pounds to a 21 pound carrot and an 8.44 lb giant tomato, farmers and gardening fans at Ripon, England’s stately Newby Hall and Gardens were treated to some produce fit for the plates of giants.

It all happened at the Harrogate Autumn flower show, one of the most highly anticipated events in the gardening calendar. Harrogate Flower Shows are organized and run twice a year, in April and September, by the North of England Horticultural Society, a charity which supports and encourages all aspects of horticulture across the north of England. Each event welcomes up to 30,000 visitors over the course of three days, and this year’s edition, on the grounds of one of England’s finest stately homes, didn’t disappoint. Check out these photos of some of this season’s winners!
