Delta Plane Slides Off Snowy Detroit Runway

A plane slid off of the runway at Detroit Metro Airport Sunday afternoon, according to emergency responders at the airport.

According to Delta officials, Flight 724 arriving from Buffalo landed safely but snowy conditions from Winter Storm Caly caused the McDonnell Douglas MD-88 to slide off the runway as it was making its way from the runway onto a taxiway, according to WXYZ.

Passengers exited the aircraft from its tail after coming to a rest near the edge of the runway, reports WWJ.

 
No injuries were reported.
