Melissa Rapidly Intensifies Into A Category 4 Hurricane

Hurricane Melissa rapidly intensified from a Tropical Storm to a Category 4 hurricane in 24 hours, and is still undergoing rapid intensification. It is expected to be a Category 5 storm by Monday. Melissa is forecast to remain a life-threatening, catastrophic threat to Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba. Melissa is forecast to produce several feet of rainfall, resulting in mudslides across the islands.
