Meet Koda. This four year old chihuahua lives in the northwest high peaks of Maine, where he's a seasoned trail hiker and mountain climber. As his owner Laura Casey writes, "Koda came to us almost immediately after the death of our little girl Chihuahua in 2021 and from day one, he made it known he wanted to be both my Service dog and Emotional Support Animal. Koda walks with us through the woods every morning — rain, snow or sunshine — and has protected me from larger dogs (and a bear) on our trails here in Maine. He may only be 7 pounds of fluff — but his heart is as large as a lion. Most importantly, he proves that big courage comes in tiny packages sometimes — and he is our eternal sunshine."
