Emergency responders in North Georgia had to act fast in order to rescue a poor pooch that had fallen down an embankment and was stranded in the rushing waters of the Chattahoochee River last Friday.

On social media, the White County Office of Public Safety said that White County Fire Services and Habersham Emergency Services responded to the river, near Goat Neck Road, "after receiving a call that a dog had fallen down an embankment and become stuck in the river."

Video and photos from the scene showed the responders putting the dog on a floating stretcher and keeping it calm while they returned to dry land. The dog was, thankfully, uninjured by the incident.
