It's a tale as old as cats and dogs themselves. Dog sees cat. Cat sees dog. Dog chases cat. Cat sees tree. Cat gets stuck in tree. Dog barks at tree. Now, how these tales ended before we had firefighters, I can't tell you. But now that we most certainly do have firefighters, I can tell you that these stories usually end with happy pet parents, relieved cats and smiling first responders.

Such was the case on Tuesday in Waco, Texas, where one family's cat was happily reunited with its people after the Waco Fire Department did their thing and rescued it from a tree. Footage released by the Fire Department shows the happy moment (seen above) when a firefighter from Engine 7 was able to hand the feline back to its owner.

On social media, a department spokeperson wrote, "Engine 7 helped this kitty from the tree this afternoon in north Waco. The barking dog enjoyed the operation too!" Hopefully what the dog was saying was "I promise to be kind to my cat buddy from here on out!"
