A Grant County, Indiana, sheriff's deputy got more than he bargained for when responding to a call about an animal in the roadway. Instead of finding one stray creature, the officer discovered an entire farm's worth of livestock, including chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats and geese, wandering freely.

You know, we often bring you rescue stories about first responders finding errant horses, cows or other farm animals. But this is the first time I can remember when someone ended up having to rescue an entire farm's worth of livestock!

It happened in Grant County, Indiana, when a sheriff's deputy responding to a call concerning an animal in a roadway found a little bit more than he was expecting at the scene, with chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats and geese all wandering amuck.

Footage recorded by the deputy's body camera shows him patiently herding the entire farm back into a gated area.

"Thankfully, no animals were harmed, and everything ended the way we like to see it -- safely and without incident," a social post made afterward by the Sheriff's Department read. "All of the animals were rounded up and put back where they belonged."
