French Bulldog Named America's Most Popular Dog in 2025

The American Kennel Club released its 2025 rankings of America's most popular dog breeds, with French bulldog holding the top spot for the fourth consecutive year due to their apartment-friendly size. Dachshunds made the biggest move, cracking the top five for the first time, while labrador retrievers, golden retrievers and German shepherds round out the rankings. The AKC now recognizes 205 breeds, though only 202 appeared in this year's list.
