Photos serve as our witness as the earth continues to lose its natural resources to a climate emergency.

This year saw the devastating damage Hurricane Dorian brought to the Bahamas, blazing wildfires in California and snow in Las Vegas. In 2019, the first-ever glacier funeral took place, the Amazon rainforest burned and Victoria Falls slowed to a trickle as Zimbabwe and Zambia experienced intense drought.

We’ve compiled our favorite images of 2019, ranging from weather.com’s climate change coverage, to severe storms, to awe-inspiring nature photos.
