Calmer winds Tuesday allowed firefighters to make some headway battling the 31-square-mile Pipeline Fire outside of Flagstaff, Arizona, from the air and around the fire's perimeter.

Red flag warnings expired in northern Arizona Tuesday and some evacuations have been downgraded as the fire retreated from the more populated areas according to the Associated Press. About 350 homes were still under evacuation orders, down from the nearly 700 evacuations on Monday.

One home and another structure were damaged in the blaze, the Coconino County Sheriff's Office said.
