S​ix more weeks of winter, says Punxsutawney Phil, who saw his shadow early Thursday morning. According to Groundhog Day lore, the groundhog's shadow would call for six more weeks of winter, however, if Phil had not seen his shadow, an early spring would have been in store.

P​hotos show crowds gathering at Gobbler's Knob to hear the famous groundhog's weather prediction. Temperatures were in the teens in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Thursday morning, but revelers showed up in warm coats and hats to celebrate the holiday.

Punxsutawney has been the site of the biggest Groundhog Day celebration for the last 137 years. As is tradition, The Groundhog Club Inner Circle donned top hats for the occasion.

T​he party isn't over yet in Gobbler's Knob, as the holiday has become a four-day event in Punxsutawney. The town hosts a Groundhog Ball, Lunch with Phil, fireworks and more during the festival, which ends Feb. 4.
