R​esidents in the Southern Plains are continuing cleanup after a derecho produced damaging tornadoes and heavy winds late Sunday into early Monday.

At least 55 people were injured throughout Oklahoma due to the storms, according to the Associated Press.

P​hotos show significant damage, from homes with roofs torn off to vehicles tossed on top of each other in Norman, Oklahoma, where a confirmed tornado touched down around 9:15 p.m. Sunday. According to officials, 12 were injured in the tornado. None were critical and there were no deaths reported.

T​he tornado knocked out power to two schools in Norman, forcing class cancellations, KCKO reported.

One death and three injuries were blamed on a tornado near Cheyenne, Oklahoma, according to Roger Mills County's emergency manager Levi Blackketter. The AP reported that 20 homes in Cheyenne were damaged and four destroyed.

S​torm damage and destroyed homes were also reported in McCloud and in Shawnee, east and southeast of Oklahoma City, and some businesses in west Oklahoma City received storm damage as well, according to KOCO. Several utility poles were knocked down in the Oklahoma City metro area.

A third possible tornado struck in Liberal, Kansas, at about 5 p.m. CT Sunday, the National Weather Service reported. More than a dozen homes were damaged and one person sustained minor injuries according to KSN. The NWS also reported tornadoes near Plymell and west of Kalvesta in Kansas' Finney County.
