P​hotos show a mangled train near Raymond, Minnesota, after it derailed early Thursday morning.

T​he train, which as hauling ethanol and corn syrup, derailed and caught fire around 1 a.m. CDT. Residents within a 1/2 mile of the crash were ordered to evacuate from their homes. A​bout 150 relocated to a shelter in the nearby town of Prinsburg for the rest of the night, according to WCCO. Residents were permitted to return home Thursday afternoon.

N​o injuries or deaths were reported.

F​irefighters worked to extinguish the fire, and photos taken later in the morning show the train encased in ice from the firefighting efforts in the freezing town. R​aymond's assistant fire chief told WCCO that the crews were letting the ethanol burn out after spraying thousands of gallons of water on the train cars.

The area is under a winter weather advisory as a wintry mix and ice approaches, which could hamper recovery efforts. The main track is blocked, and it's unclear when it will be reopened. BNSF, which operated the train, said in a press conference that cleanup will take several days.

Highway 23 is closed from Kandiyohi Road 1 to Chippewa County Road 1 due to the derailment, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
