A​s floodwaters recede, Hurricane Idalia's damage and destruction is revealed. In aerial images, viewers can take in the scope of what Idalia has left behind.

F​rom a burned-out home due to a transformer explosion to wind-damaged roofs and still-waterlogged streets, the slideshow above shows images from some of Idalia's hardest-hit areas.

T​he storm made landfall near Keaton Beach, Florida, on Wednesday morning, and tied as the strongest recorded storm to hit Florida's Big Bend area. Idalia killed at least one person and left hundreds of thousands of people without power across the Southeast.
