Photos Show Major Flooding in Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Spain

Photos show the devastation in Europe as flooding struck four countries this week. At least 17 people have died in the floods.

Spain and Greece were among the hardest-hit countries, with Bulgaria and Turkey heavily impacted as well. Images show damaged vehicles, washed-out roads and mud and debris throughout these regions.

Seven people were reported dead in Turkey, four in Bulgaria and six in Greece. Rescue and recovery missions were underway to find several other people who remained missing in the floods.

Parts of Spain received up to 7 inches of rainfall. Helicopters were deployed in Toledo, Spain, to rescue people from roofs of flooded homes.

Flooding swept cars into the sea in Greece’s Pelion region. In Pelion's city of Volos, which was expected to receive up to 27 inches of rain Tuesday and Wednesday, a video shows the mayor pleading with motorists to get off the dangerous roads.
