What makes a roller coaster scary? Usually, its fast turns, dramatic loops and gut-dropping plunges. But, one coaster in Japan may be scarier than the rest, and it has none of that.

Located in Washuzan Highland Amusement Park in Okayama City, Japan, the SkyCycle is a push-pedal coaster powered by the riders themselves. While there are no loops or drops, the SkyCycle is a truly wild ride. You're pedaling stories above the ground on a cart with no guard rails, just a seatbelt. The carts are open with two seats and a basket in front to hold belongings. They even have brakes like real bicycles. Basically, nothing like your average coaster.

Once you're aboard, the views of Okayama City and Shimotsui-Seto Bridge are pretty breathtaking. That is, if you have any breath to spare after looking down.
