These frightening photos of daring rock climbers pushing their grip to the limit have the most stunning coastal backdrop. Freelance filmmaker and photographer, Kieran Duncan, 26 years old, living in Dundee, Scotland captured the action at the annual Kalymnos Climbing Festival.

The festival has been taking place on the island since 2000. The location is one of the most popular climbing destinations in the world, due to its 2,500 climbing routes.

The island has routes for beginners as well as challenging pitches for advanced climbers. 

"Kalymnos has so much to offer, whether you climb or not," Duncan, who hails from Scotland, told Caters News Agency.
