It is dangerous at times to drive a car on a wet road, but it becomes even more dangerous for motorcycle.

We have seen videos of wet weather causing havoc on roads. It can be dangerous when you’re in a car. But, for people who drive motorcycles that danger can be magnified.

Motorcycles are much more susceptible to hydroplaning than cars are. If you compare a motorcycle tire to a car’s tire, it has much less tread and less depth to the tread. So, as a result it has less ability to channel the water away. Here is how to survive if your bike hydroplanes.

When you encounter pooled water on the road surface, the best thing to do is to release the throttle slowly to get under control.

If you are reducing your speed that is going to allow you to have the tires maintain contact with the pavement. If speeds are slowed down, the water is not going to be able to lift that tire away from the roadway and cause hydroplaning.
