Hurricane Dorian has thousands in Florida worrying about their Labor Day weekend plans.

The Force may be strong, but can it turn away a hurricane?

Thousands of people waiting to get into the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World in Florida hope so, as do fans of Florida State football and the Rolling Stones.

Disney's newest "land" opened to the public on Thursday in Hollywood Studios. Huge crowds are expected throughout the Labor Day weekend.

But Hurricane Dorian looms over the state like a Death Star. It's still too soon to say with certainty, but the forecast Thursday morning predicted the storm could still be a hurricane when it reaches Central Florida early next week.

Another Disney event, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, is also threatened by the storm.

Disney had not made any statements about the storm as of Thursday morning.

The Inside the Magic Disney fans blog says the parks are known for letting guests know what impact severe weather could have on their visits. Disney World temporarily closed for Hurricane Irma in 2017 and for Hurricane Matthew in 2016

Officials with Florida State University are moving Saturday's season-opening football game against Boise State from Jacksonville, Florida, to their home stadium in Tallahassee at noon.

One fear had been that if the game went on as scheduled in Jacksonville, traffic to and from the game could slow down evacuees trying to get out of Dorian's path, the Tallahassee Democrat reported. The newspaper reported the game will begin at noon in Doak Campbell Stadium.

At the other end of the state, Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones had been scheduled to appear at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Saturday night..

Now the final performance of the band's No Filter Tour will be Friday night.

“Due to the weather forecast, the Rolling Stones show scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Hard Rock Stadium has been moved to tomorrow night, Friday, Aug. 30. All tickets will be honored for the new date,” said a statement released by the band's representatives.
