Cleanup continues Monday after severe storms and tornadoes struck in the mid-South Saturday, killing at least two people.

More than a dozen tornadoes were confirmed by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Saturday's weather event. Homes and businesses were destroyed from Texas to Kentucky in the severe weather that uprooted trees, downed powerlines and tore roofs off of buildings.

A 79-year-old woman, identified as Dallas Jane Combs, was killed in Adairville, Kentucky, when her and her husband's home was "completely demolished" Logan County Sheriff Wallace Whittaker said.

At least 500 people were left without power in the Adairville area, where the NWS issued a preliminary rating of EF2 for the twister that struck the town Saturday

An EF1 tornado struck Clay County, Arkansas, Saturday, blowing a trailer into a nearby pond and killing Albert Foster, 83.

NWS officials confirmed an EF2 or higher tornado in Clarksville, Tennessee, where nearly 100 homes were damaged or destroyed. Texas and Oklahoma experienced severe storms that downed trees and damaged homes and businesses, and at least 20 homes were damaged in Malden, Missouri.
