What To Do When Severe Weather Strikes

Today, April 8, is #SafePlaceSelfie day! This campaign was created to encourage people to share where they go in times of severe or extreme weather. Join us and participate! Go to your safe place, snap a selfie, tag us @weatherchannel and add #SafePlaceSelfie before posting on social media. And don't forget your pets!

This is a good time to discuss where you and your family will go when severe weather strikes. Don't only think of tornadoes. There are many other weather hazards out there depending on where you live.

Remember severe weather doesn't only strike when you are home. Think about where you would go if you are traveling or caught in an unfamiliar location. Preparation is key and the more you are prepared, the safer you will be during times of extreme weather.
