The Red Cross set up at shelter at Wisner-Pilger High School in Wisner for those affected by the storms, Tina Labellarte, Nebraska Southwest Iowa region executive for the Red Cross, told omaha.com.

"I don't expect a big population at the shelter, but we are there for the people who need it," she said, noting that people generally stay with family and friends.

Other Red Cross shelters are on standby, waiting for requests from emergency management to open if needed, Labellarte said.
