Seven villages in southern Greece were evacuated as a large wildfire continued to rage on Thursday. More than 270 firefighters have been deployed to the scene near the town of Corinth in the Peloponnese region, about 50 miles southwest of Athens, along with water-dropping aircraft, according to ABCNews.

The blaze began on Wednesday, and the Fire Service said the fire was in full development after winds again intensified following a lull earlier Thursday.

No injuries have been reported, and according to EuroNews, the extent of property damage is not yet clear.

The Greek City Times reported that 57 fires broke out in Greece between the early hours on Wednesday and early Thursday. Most of those fires were quickly contained.
